The basic problem is there are so many recalls across the board of Hyundai's, the service departments are tired of getting paid less.
In the last two months. I took it in for a recall related to the cooling system. It took weeks to address the problem. The local dealer will not provide a rental, which they should under the warranty, until they verify the problem is covered by the warranty. So, for 4 days or longer you have no rental.
So, they give me back the vehicle after more than week, and now a hose is leaking. They did not care. Now I am in the hospital for more than a month, so they see no rush on the broken radiator hose.
In fact, they held my truck past the time of the repair because my service agent was out of the office.
Then my driver who is insured receives the truck and notices the steering wheel shakes. It is the front universal.
Now they want me to bring it back again, where it will sit for 4 days waiting to be checked out, while I am denied a rental.
This endless cycle of repairs has been going on since the first month. The truck seems to stall while driving on the highway. It pulls. The display screens will not stay set. Something as simple as the clock cannot be set. It will change the second you turn off the engine. The tire pressure light is on all the time.
Several months ago, I went to a dealer in San Antonio for a warranty issue on the tire. I had a 5-hour trip back to Brownsville. They refused to fix the issue. They said I had to take it too the dealer where I bought it. I had my portable air gun, and every hour had to put air in the tire.
I am done. I have the skills to sue, so I will. The dealers are losing money on all the recalls, and this is impacting overall servicing of their vehicles which are in need constant service.
