I think I want to order a TonnoFlip to replace the stock tonneau. The double septuple posts really sold it for me. I mean, it was reverse psychology, right? Like those stupid Facebook ads:

"14 reasons why you shouldn't order a TonnoFlip. #1, it's total amazeballs"

I see you, Howard.

Does anyone that has this TonnoFlip or the Lomax hard cover installed on their SC live in SoCal? I'd really like to see each of these installed on a SC in person. Willing to drive anywhere in Los Angeles to SanDiego. I live in Anaheim myself. Considering a hard cover for my SEL Non-Activity.

Please shoot me a PM in CONVERSATIONS if you'd be willing to meet. Thx!

I purchased a TonnoFlip cover for my 2025 SEL...I chose it over the LOMAX version mainly because it didn't require gluing braces to the roof to keep the cover fully open while the TonnoFlip has the prop rods. The cost advantage of $400 was also a positive. I do like the lever action to unlock the sections and the flush fit.

However, as previous posts have stated, I needed to make some mounting spacers for the bed rails because they weren't included in the package. TonnoFlip told me that what I received was the "new" design and that spacers were not needed. Incorrect, and even the video shows installation of spacers to properly mount the bed rails. I informed them of this to let them know of future customers having issues. They still insist that I have received the version that does not need the spacers. Oh well...

All in all, this is a nice cover and meets my needs. Seems to be sufficiently waterproof. I guess I will take some consolation in saving $400 in lieu of the missing spacers.

Are you referring to the rectangular spacers in this Tonnoflip installation video?

I found it odd that the installer puts 3 spacer in the first spot next to the tailgate, 2 spacers in the two middle spots and one spacer in the spot closest to the cab. When he does the other side it's a mixed bag as well???

I my mind those spacers would be better suited to the application if they were simiple thick round washer-spacers that fit the circle in the bed liners. Did they say they changed the bracket to have a longer center section to make up for the spacers not being used?

Lastly, are you in SoCal?

I used 3/8"x 1 1/2" fender washers (covering the round impression in the bedliner) and cut out rubber shims (from 3/16" rubber washer material to make your own plumbing washers). I thought the same about a rubber insert into the bedliner impression being optimal.

They didn't specify anything about the bracket at all; I have sent two emails to them explaining that the brackets are obviously the old style only to have a response to each that I did indeed receive the updated model/brackets. Again, I see why some are miffed about the company, but console myself knowing I saved $400 while being overall satisfied with the cover.

I am located north of Indianapolis...sorry!

I decided to go with the Lomax Stance. While I like what I saw for the TonnoFlip, I just don't trust Tonnoflip to be legit. I found too many problems checking them out, like the USPTO trademark was just filed last year (Trademark Status & Document Retrieval).

I can't find a business registration in Florida, and earlier traces of "TonnoFlip" track back to Puerto Rico. I can't verify their claim with the SBA of being veteran owned. Veteran Small Business Certification

All of their instillation videos seem to be done by the same people in the same garage around the same time. If really were thousands of satisfied customers, I would expect to real comments somewhere. All I found was a couple posts on the Toyota Tacoma forum which relates to purchases in Puerto Rico. Nothing on Ford Maverick or F150 forums, which are some of the most popular trucks. Any comments I found on other forums were answered by new members whose existence seems to be only to answer the comments about TonnoFlip. This makes me think the answers, and the very few testimonials, may be from TonnoFlip employees or owners. They have lots of presence on Facebook, Twitter (X), Pinterest, and YouTube, but all date back about a year or less. There is a Facebook Admin post on TonnoFlip's facebook account saying they are reviewing the account and may block it or cancel it altogether. We know Facebook will cancel someone for being politically incorrect, so I don't know if this means anything. There is a YouTube video answering the question , why was my TonnoFlip box opened, claiming it was a quality control inspection. Maybe, or maybe they they installed that unit to make the video, then reboxed.

Yelp gives their address as 902 Cross Prairie Pkwy Kissimmee, FL 34744 (https://www.yelp.com/biz/tonnoflip-kissimmee-2) . The listed phone number and website match the Tonnoflip website, which itself is lacking a physical address listing. Google street view shows a small commercial building housing a surveyor and lawnmower repair.

In short, it just doesn't smell right. Maybe they are real and just launching. If so, good luck to them.

Like I previously said, it looks like a very nice product, but I would advise you that if you purchase one of their tonneau covers, use a credit card with good fraud protection.
Good info. Thanks.

I just ordered a TonnoFlip on Jan 7th and received it on Monday Jan 12th. Received an e-mail from Jani Nazario at TonnoFlip verifying my address prior to shipping. Both boxes looked great from FedEx and I’m planning to install it on my Santa Cruz Limited this weekend. Looked them up and they are listed at:

Thank you for the update, and curious to know your result. My brackets looked exactly as in the video where spacers were being installed. I have not heard back from TonnoFlip (Jani) regarding the bracket spacer issue yet (probably because I let her know I was able to make the spacers); not holding my breath either. However, I did get another notification from them last week that my tonneau cover was delivered (after I already received and installed mine) to my address in Arkansas (I live in Indiana) with a picture of the two packages, obviously at that address. So...the actual product seems to be good independent of what I perceive as a "shoestring" operation.
