Brakes are considered a wear / maintence item, thus not covered by the warranty. However if determined to be defective within 12 months they should replace them. So its up to the dealer to make the call.

That is my feeling - but it's only a 'feeling'. I haven't seen anywhere that states Hyundai has to cover wear and tear items. Since the truck is new and only has 5,000 miles I expect them to, but I haven't seen it written anywhere.

Unless a driver rides the brakes continually or drives aggressively, Brakes should go at least 30k. When I get on the Highway I hardly touch the brakes until the exit .

I totally agree. Having been driving for 35+ years, I am familiar with the feel of warped rotors and that is exactly what my SC feels like. I use my truck for commuting primarily and am NOT hard on the brakes. So I feel this is a defect that should be covered. Period. But the service manager made me feel uncomfortable with his demeanor, which is why I have come here asking for advice/experience from you fine folks.

they are warped again!!!!! FN less that 10000 miles!!!!! I own 6 vehicles and this is the only one that has this issue!!!!!! 2 Range rovers a Shelby (has seen track duty) F150, Harley Davidson, Subaru wrx none have evr warped as a matter of fact Ive owned 40 vehicles and never had warped rotors!

Is a caliper stuck? Brake pistons damaged? Wheels torqued incorrectly? Hubs damaged? Something is wrong, because as you noted brakes don't warp as part of normal or even heavy track usage.

I have 4K on a new SEL P . I haven’t liked the brake feel from the beginning. They work fine of course but feel very soft. The Kona in the family is much more firm feeling. My 04 Silverado has firmer feeling brakes. Has anyone experienced the soft brake feel? Or is it just me?

I dont use the lane keeping or lane following assist specifically because they use front brake modulation to steer. I dont want constant brake application while driving so as not to exacerbate rotor warpage or uneven pad wear.

Light modulated taps on your brakes via onboard computer will not warp your rotors.

Mountain descents without engine braking will tho.

"Wear items" are covered for 1 year/12,00 miles; according to their website.

Y'all are worried about your brake pads, I'm worried that the center console display is only covered for 60k miles 😭 that's whack yo
Considering most manufacturers provides basic warranty of 36month/36,000miles coverage (Ford, Honda, Toyota etc…) 🤷🏻‍♂️ They’d be wackier? 😂

Um duh, tunes are way more important than stupid stuff like actual safety items 🤷‍♂️🤣

Broke rotors are $100 each and you in your driveway with basic tools or any shop on earth can do the work for a few hundred dollars.

An infotainment unit replacement is a $3-5k dealership job.
Thats my concern.

I've got less faith in 10" flat screens than 13" hunks of steel.

If my stock rotors kept warping I'd just find another brand honestly. A decent set of pads and rotors will last longer than 30k miles.

Point being: the vehicle is still driveable with a busted infotainment screen. Without brakes; not so much.

That is NOT how lane keeping works - it uses the electronic power steering to function (MDPS in Hyundai speak).

Again brake rotors do NOT warp unless there is something wrong with the braking system like a stuck caliper or damaged hubs. I have hundreds of laps at Homestead and Sebring in both a 350Z and C7 with zero warpped rotors. Lap after lap of 100 MPH+ straights to near ABS lock up for 30 MPH turns.

Thanks for the correction. Now ill use those features!
