Hard to find accurate info on this vehicle (2022 sel premium). This came with a 7 pin trailer socket. Do I understand correctly that I need to purchase a plug in trailer break controller to operate the breaks on a travel trailer. Thanks

ok little update as I found discussions here on this subject. Good to know what that 4 wire trailer break harness I was provided is for. And Jimii is spot on with his comment about most Hyundai dealerships not having truck experience so quite ignorant in that area. I was able to find a direct 7 pin plug in wireless controller that would make things quick and simple. Drawback of course is cost. In the $260+ range! Yikes! thank goodness I won’t need that as the other options are not difficult to install.

Yes, there is a connector under the dash for a brake controller. You can also use a wireless Bluetooth controller if desired like this CURT unit.

This thread covers installing a brake controller...
