I got a Curt Hitch from U-Haul (#13486). Got one side on loosely, the other (over the muffler) seems too far away from the mounting holes, so that I can not get the bolts to thread. Is this how it's supposed to fit?? The left side is only on loosely, so that the plate on the hitch is not in contact with the frame. Maybe U-Haul sent me to wrong hitch? Seems like the hitch mounts should fit between the frame rail fairly tightly. Help is requested ASAP!!~

I installed the Curt hitch last weekend and have a gap and wasn't concerned until I saw this thread. The hitch was shipped directly from Curt and the box was perfect so there was damage in shipping but there is definitely a gap. I spoke with Curt earlier today as I intended to install the wiring, that arrived this week, today and wanted this clarified before doing so. They asked for photos and this is what I sent. That is the gap torqued to 68lbs. Thoughts?
