How come Hyundai dealers tell clients that they don't know the specific dates when a new Santa Cruz will arrive? I find it hard to believe that they don't order exactly what they want on their lots. It just doesn't make sense that they have no control of when an order will arrive.
These things are just coming from Alabama.

Yeah, its been discussed elsewhere in these forums, but Hyundai (in the US) doesn't allow dealers to place direct orders with the plant. US Dealers can place an "priority bank request" for a specific model/config but ultimately it is the US Distributers who tell the plant what to make. If the distributer decides not to actually order any of your config it can take a long time before it shows up at the dealer (if ever, there is no guarantee). If it is a common spec or the distributer already had your spec in the pipeline they may be able to match it to your dealership's request rather quickly.
