Does the SE FWD have backup warnings??? If so how do you turn them on?
I'm used to all those little warnings... To close to the side...to close to the curb..etc..,

nope. None of the SC trims have parking distance warning. There are no ultrasonic sensors on any of the SC trims.

The only thing close the SC has is the crosstraffic alert where it will warn you if I car is coming when you are backing up. Not sure what trims have/don’t have the crosstraffic alert.

Does the cross traffic alert work from the cameras alone? I assumed there was some kind of sensor but you're right, no telltale buttons on the bumpers.

I'm about ready to turn off the cross-traffic system ... it's too sensitive for my liking, and when it decides you shouldn't move, even if it's perfectly safe, it will NOT release the brake and let you go. At least it won't for me. Just jams the brakes if I try to give it throttle. There's a restaurant parking lot I go to every week that backs onto a street ... and even with an open car length between parked and the street, it will not let me back out if there is a car coming down the road. And there doesn't seem to be (that I have found yet, correct me if I'm wrong) a way to set it to alert only. It's just an on/off checkbox in the settings. I'd like to keep an alert, but without the active braking. I think I'm going to turn it off though, because it's a little TOO sensitive. Too bad, because it IS useful, in most parking lot situations.

There are rear radar sensors for the cross-traffic stuff though. Not sure what trim levels do/don't have it though.

The sensors are in the tail lights, they are used for the blind spot and cross traffic warning, check the manual it has several pages about the system.

My SEL has a windshield sensor that knows when the car in front of you is pulling away. Cross and side traffic are warning AND can apply the brakes automatically (had it happen with each). Don't know if the front sensor will apply the brakes when needed?

I swear the first 2WD SEL Activity Package model I test drove had a rear single beep warning when I backed it into a parking place with some water pipes in the island I backed up to after they were within the red line. I guess that beep might have been something else? I asked the salesman what that was and he said the backup sensor, you're getting close to those pipes. But he was the same salesman that told me the sunroof doesn't tilt (it does).

One of these days I'm going to slowly back up into something that won't hurt the bumper just to see what happens...

It does have very useful distance "lines" on the backup camera screen. It appears the RED line is about one foot from the object when it touches it on the screen. The L&R side lines are spot on accurate too. I'd prefer having a beep at the RED line position to help keep me alert or the traditional beeping that speeds up until the sound is solid on, in addition to the distance lines.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket backup sensors that will work on the Santa Cruz?

Just found this one. It requires no drilling and i can keep the car stock.

This might be even better. Only problem would be price.

Got surprised by a repeated beeping warning at 37mph when approaching two cars slowing/stopped in front of me, while a third in front of them was parallel parking. I think it said something on the gauge cluster center screen, but I didn't catch it. It was clearly warning me that the cars in front of me were slowing and/or stopped, and I was approaching faster than it liked. Seemed a little premature to me.

The SEL windshield sensor obviously has a distance safety feature built in. Don't know if it would have applied the brakes automatically if I didn't do it manually? It seems if it has distance at speed, it "could" have distance in front when moving slowly too if Hyundai wanted to program it for parking.

I had a similar alert the other day while on the expressway. Cars in front all started to slow and it beeped at me.
