Congrats and welcome to the forum from another N Tx owner.
How bad was the hail damage? any pics?First time Hyundai owner (wife has a Santa Fe Sport) I have always driven Mazdas.
I picked up a 2023 limited with hail damage on the hood, roof and passenger side for 10k off MSRP and I am extremely happy with it. Looking forward to being here. View attachment 18918
Ah okay... those arent too bad, but you can see them in the right light/angle for sure. But, you got a limited for the price of the SEL, so that is pretty awesome! I ended up with the SEL... mainly because I didn't want to spend 45k on a vehicle. It's a little hard to show in pictures but this is the best I could get. Mainly the hood but nothing I would consider serious.
I drove my last car for 13 years and put 217,000 miles on it. Having this is like living in the future from what I was driving.Wow. There is absolutely no way I would buy a new vehicle in that condition regardless of price. It's hard to believe anyone would be okay with, but as long as you're happy and you plan on keeping it forever...
Last month, I sold a '21 Ridgeline with less, but still obvious hail damage to a local dealer. They didn't say anything about it or fix it. We've had more hail here in Texas in the last two months than in the last ten years.![]()
By the way.... do you think those can be tapped out by a professional? I have seen some youtube videos of the guys that can tap out dents/dings ... it is very impressive! However, I don't know the cost of that service. It's a little hard to show in pictures but this is the best I could get. Mainly the hood but nothing I would consider serious.
I have a friend that has some bodywork experience and he said to try to shop around in later in the year when we haven't had bad weather in awhile. I will probably look into it down the road.By the way.... do you think those can be tapped out by a professional? I wouldn't, given my situation/needs. I mostly use my SC to commute. I park in the garage at work and in my garage at home. And I think I've seen hail in this area twice in the last 5 years. BUT, if I lived in an area of frequent hail, didn't have covered parking available and/or made frequent use of gravel roads, I'd have done that deal. Or if I ran a business that needed a light duty pickup. It would be a good deal for say, a residential handyman. Ditch the back seat and build in a platform. Use a light trailer to haul lumber.Wow. There is absolutely no way I would buy a new vehicle in that condition regardless of price.
