Aloha @childoffire79

there is the eBay set that avoids this spot. (And I think is a better design all around)
That is why I’m leaning on getting it.(hate wasting money, but being they are newer vehicle you sometimes need to gamble on ideas)

I do want to get that suspension strut you currently have. Making modification to the Evilla strut is an option but too much work involved since the eBay kit appears to avoid the need.

a lot of items (sold daily in US stores) come from China and they aren’t all junk. Same was said years ago about Japanese products.

aloha @gkend I’ve read that they can be installed either way. But the preferred way is how I have it. Shaft down.
The other way didn’t make a difference in opening or close.

another link. Good in-depth article on lifts/struts. if you want to know more then one should ever know about them. Lol

Stuts on my SC work well. It was also the direction shown on the directions that came with the struts. It is also the direction the shocks on my Lexus are.

I think the slow rise has more to do with the hood placement of the struts. Like your Lexus is installed it’s closer to the rear. More force applied at the back where the stroke Is shorter.

I appreciate the extra effort sir.
My current setup does work. It’s just doesn’t open through the range as I would like.

Installed the hood strut kit from Aliexpress today. A little 'interesting' getting the nuts fished into place, but that was expected. Works great, I just KNOW I would one day pull down on the hood with the prop rod still up and bend it!!!

While we had a break in weather went ahead and painted that rear suitcase muffler black.
This is a great upgrade! Thanks for sharing, I was surprised to see that tiny bar when I looked under the hood, I never even thought to do an upgrade.. thanks!

Shaft up or shaft down, either way the strut spends 99.95% of its life horizontally with the hood closed. I doubt that it makes any measurable difference as to the lubrication of the seals. But the carbon fiber ones will easily shave 0.01 seconds off the qtr mile.

I like the design on this setup a lot better, but when I checked the seller's compatibility chart it shows this

From the pictures I've seen of the Tucson and comparing them to the SC they appear the same. I've ordered a set...yeah throwing money around. I'll let you all know what I find. (maybe a month...slow boat across the pond)
