Hyundai took the wraps off the new Tucson today, prior to the Geneva show opening soon. The first link has a video with great shots of the car, as well as some specifics. It looks like it will have the full suite of tech, including ACC, which makes me very happy. The second link has actual still pics, while the third has the actual car opened up with the media climbing into it.

Once again, I don't see anything in these pics that makes me think that the Santa Cruz is not simply a new Tucson, with the cargo area turned into a bed!

I think it looks great inside and out, thankfully we've reached a time where Hyundai's design language is at the greatest it's ever been. Compared to the competition, I think they should rank quite well.

here are some 2016 hyundai tuscon pictures i pulled, the vital few...

Yeah, it looks like they took the older version and gave it a little more "toughened" stance, a bit like the MB GLK. We have a 2010, and I could see myself in this new one, if they don't build the Santa Cruz. However, I won't be able to get over my anger and disappointment if they don't build the Santa Cruz!

Very sharp looking and obviously on the path towards the Santa Cruz.

Notice how the fender flares are now separate from the sheet metal which would allow for the integrated tie-down points.

Compared to the current Tucson the wheel openings, wheels and tires are larger. Another defining feature attributing to the good looks of the SC.

Yeah, it's a nice transition, not too much and just enough.

Fortunately we're still early in the process of the santa cruz so there's a while to go before it gets green lighted. Tons of reasons why it should and why it shouldn't

Great pictures.
Inside and out, that Tuscon looks great. The only thing I really dislike are the wheels.
But as great as it looks, there are many questions left to be answered about it, build quality being one of them.

Yeah, that is a good video. I found this last week, also, because NONE of the stills showed what the thing looked like from the back with the hatch open!!! This really makes me glad that we didn't get the Subaru last fall, as I'm not so sure, now. I just read today on caranddriver.com that Hyundai is going to be branding their "sport" models with the "N" designation (not sure why they are not calling them "R spec", as in the Genesis), and the Tucson WILL have an "N" variant.

Can't wait to see the official USA launch in April at NY.

I just hope their reason for going with a new performance name tag has to do with them upping their performance tech to something much more sophisticated, or something along those lines, if not... if it's up to same level of performance improvements... WTF was the point?

Did you see who they hired to head this up? Holy s***, I think they're serious!

I didn't, who was it?
They got the guy from BMW, who was in charge of their M-series! I'm thinking he's not here to rubber-stamp stuff. :D:D:D

It was in that 2nd article that I linked to, above.

Well then... they're up to some serious business, I applaud them for getting someone with a portfolio in-line with their vision, a guy with an impressive portfolio. This just makes things even more interesting.

I'm already starting to imagine what's running through his head for a potent Genesis coupe :D

I think that that red does look good right now. I do question how well it will age, not in the sense that it will fade, but in the sense that I could see that not being quite as cool a couple years (4-6) down the road.

See, one thing I always disliked is how everywhere from the c-pilars and up are in a completely different color. just imagine if all that was black like every where else below it in the interior.... that would create a bit more of a premium look to me.
