Hyundai Plant Tour

Today was the day. We started in the Weld Building. This was impressive and scary at the same time. It reminded me of the movie, I Robot, and was mostly automated. Next was Main Assembly. About 1 in 15 were SCs. It was still highly automated but with gentle hands adding parts and assemblies. Finally the Engine Building. I could have spent hours touring but sadly it ended after about an hour.

I saw a new or concept color. It was somewhere between coral and yellow. I can't find it on the web.

Photography was prohibited except in the visitor center. All in all a great day. If you are planning a trip to L.A. (Lower Alabama), consider a tour.

Cool, I bet that was VERY interesting. Curious, did you learn anything that was unexpected or see anything surprising? Were there any transmission or wiring harness gremlins running around, or did they have them contained somewhere? 😳🤣 LOL. JK.

You know the old saying—"If you can't find Oompa-Loompas, you make them!"

I was outside but a few days later myself. Wanted to take the tour but you have to book weeks in advance. I will get a clip of the videos I took but I did see the gold colored SC outside.

I’m betting it is coming next year.
Did you bring suckers and sippy cups for the employees. Do they shut the line down in the morning and afternoon for nap time?

It was a nice color. I saw two under very different light so I'm not sure what it was. The color was a little bold for me but to each their own!
Plant tours are fun and educational! Several years ago, I was part of a "VIP" plant tour at Honda's Alabama Auto Plant (formerly Honda Manufacturing of Alabama). The VIP tour was longer and included some areas not seen during normal tours.

The one thing that stood out during that tour for me was that all the plastic from the employee cafeteria gets recycled and is used to make some of the plastic parts on the vehicles, so the water bottle you tossed in the garbage on your lunch break would end up as a mud flap.

Well that explains why the mud flaps are so tiny!

Too bad everything Honda does these days is hidden from the public. :D They must have a good reason or not!

Because they whip the employees I think.
