Hyundai hasn't given us any indication of how they will position their new mid size pickup, but if its meant to rival models like the new Ranger, beating them on price could give them a key advantage. I do think its time for the brand to move away from a purely price based appeal however, considering what they have accomplished the new Kona and G70.

A TRD'ized version of the Santa Cruz would do Hyundai a lot of good and would help fulfill past dreams they had at selling a Korean off-roader.

There are 14 different trim levels for the new Santa Fe, so Hyundai could definitely rework that for upcoming models. They aren't just targeting budget minded consumers anymore either now that they are going after legends like BMW and MB.

Hyundai never followed through on the Adventuremobile Sante Fe, not even at the slightest. So just maybe this pickup will be our last chance...

Their Genesis sub brand still has a ways to go before it starts to allure buyers from competing German rivals. Even if they are a better value proposition, badge bias is still a huge factor in the premium segment. Budget friendly models will still be Hyundai's bread and butter for years to come.

yeah there's no way around it but Hyundai's strategy has been working, even Kia for that matter that an off-road styled Soul concept was shown.

Hyundai is already showing an interest in joining the performance segment with their new N line models, so that could be the start of their expansion into new markets. Its only a matter of time before people start to look at them as more than just a discount brand. Look at the progress they have been making.

Models like the new Palisade and Sonata, preview the new design language that's to come. I am also curious to see what kind of electrics that Hyundai has been working on. Both the Ioniq and new Kona EV have already established a consumer base for them.
