I honestly thought he was punking me, and it was just a lighting on a white one, but nope. I used Chucks list to chase down a dealer that are taken delivery of a Mojave sand, and they sent me a photo, it already had sold apparently the day after it came in
That looks SUPER light/bright ... really glad I wasn't considering it. I thought it would be much darker/sandier. Might be better with the dark grille ... MAYBE. Can't see that color being a volume favorite anywhere.
I’m actually surprised by the blue and the sand. They are so much brighter than the website suggests. I really would’ve loved the blue stone if it had been more gray with a hint of blue. Something real earthy. But given how the colors of turned out, I switched my color preference to black.
We were all pretty sure of that, but I expected to have a little bit more of that color in there, versus pretty much washing it out. It's not often I see a much lighter final color than the base coats
I wonder if all the pre-production models we saw were either hand-sprayed or run through whatever color was currently in the paint tank for some other model -- ergo, not really a true Santa Cruz color.
Gotta say I think Hyundai 'missed' on the color choices. Nothing creative. All these washed out, pastel earth tones. Hampton Gray is my unquestioned favorite after I saw Sage Gray in person.
The more Sage Gray pictures I see the more I'm liking Blue Stone. It appears to be the most colorful. I was hoping Sage had some more "pop" to it in the sun but it appears to be gray with a green tint - I wished it was the other way around: green with a gray tint.
I’ve really been torn between those two. Sticking with the Sage Gray I think - if the Blue Stone looked more like it does on the website I would’ve gone for it. Just too light a shade for me from what I’ve seen.
I'm guessing the blue is much like the grey/blue Subaru has. Neighbour has it. Looks okay, but would be weird to match them. LOL Plus I'm not allowed to own a blue car because my wife's family has a "blue car curse" where every blue car they had has been in accidents. Let's overlook for a moment that they only bought blue cars. But, whatever. I was really hoping for a screaming bright yellow or green - even an orange like they had on the Kona. I'll have to settle for green. I haven't had a green car yet anyway. Had beige, gold, beige, silver, grey, silver, black, orange ... almost purple ... but never green. Time for something new!

Yep, me too. It wouldn't even be close with the other color options.
The comparisons to Subaru's colors are spot on... The Stone Blue is almost identical to Subie's Cool Gray Khaki, and this yellow that Hyundai didn't follow through on looks very close to Subie's Plasma Yellow Pearl -- both offered on the Crosstrek. Maybe Hyundai thought a green and a yellow option would overlap?
Hyundai did not want to waste any good colors on the SC rollout. Keeping them for next year to stimulate sales. But, I am liking the Sage Gray and Hampton Gray more and more.
I was really looking forward to the Mojave Sand color for mine based upon all the early promotional materials but what they delivered was just "tan" and was really disappointing so I went with the Sage Gray. I'm wondering if the supply chain issues that cropped up over the past year caused them to have to make serious compromises on the final colors for the rollout.
