I'm a pinstriper and I pinstripe for a car dealer which is Hyundai Nissan and Subaru the Santa Cruz is difficult to pinstripe because of the body contour of the vehicle I am definitely open for suggestions
Thanks... I wish I had that talent - completely hands on applied. NO ROLLER, NO MECHANISM... amazing work!NICE!
I have done the best I can, the shine factor and glare make for very difficult photo shooting.Cool! Do you have a pic of the full side of the SC? Would love to see how it flows down the body
Thats a good look IMOView attachment 3416
Tried a couple different ideas but here is a little different pin stripe idea. It follows the body lines a little better I think. It's a DIY took about 15 minutes per side.
Like the pinstriping! Flows great!! Gonna have mine done with black/red.View attachment 3416

Told them there was no way I was paying for that (or any of that other baloney -- the windows weren't even tinted), in fact I'd pay them $50 to remove the pin stripe. I spent an hour of my time with the heat gun peeling it off as soon as I got home...
If the buyer wants it, wonderful, do it. But... don't just go slap pin stripes on every new car as a money grab. Huge pet peeve.
Unless a person has a lot practice, Most DIYers wouldn't make a doors length let alone the whole vehicle. And fancy stuff....FA GET ABOUT IT! Remember It is not the price of the vinyl stripes, It's the price of the knowledge to place them on correctly. $400 sounds more like gouging, not fair trade.400 for pin strips you could do yourself!
Reminds me of an old anecdote, back in the 80's we had a huge mechanical room and roof to add to an existing Art gallery, that included craning in and protecting a huge stainless steel tank - a month before turnover a huge (3x I used the word huge) dent appeared on the tank, with the roof all complete there was no way to replace it, easily. We found a guy, he came, wandered around, felt and touched the tank, took out a special hammer, one swing near the dent, out it popped - his invoice came in £2200 - my boss flipped and asked him to justify his bill as he was on site barely a half hour:Unless a person has a lot practice, Most DIYers wouldn't make a doors length let alone the whole vehicle. For $5.99 you could do it yourself. I did400 for pin strips you could do yourself!
If you want it pin striped have it done by a professional with paint. It will look much better and last longer!!Looks pretty good.
Wondering how much that dealer ad-on will set a person back.
(dealer greed is finally starting to bother me)
The front fender striping looks completely off. The black SC in the pics above look just right.
^^^BEAT THAT DRUM!”All stripes do is collect wax on the edges and leave residue behind when you finally decided they look terrible and need to come off.
