Roof rail Clamps/Brackets?

832 Views 17 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Mike34
Aloha.
Just curious if anyone has found brackets or clamps that you utilize the roof rail? Something along the lines of the Thule clamp? You could then clamp various items (Other than to the crossbars). Go-Pro? lights? a dozen other items i can't think of.

I tried looking through the forum and didn't find or even on Amazon. Tried Thules site too. No Joy.

I don't have any plans per say, mostly out of curiosity if anyone makes something.

TIA

No answer per se to your question, Yakima have a series of "Landing pads" for seemingly everything and many vehicles, but not a typical Hyundai roof rail, not sure if H/K Corp are auctioning off/ransoming license's, but the idea of a clamp/roof rail clasp that takes multiple attachments would be beneficial to many Hyundai owners with what appears the same rail section on the SC, the Kona, and I'd imagine Tucson , Santa Fe et al

I’m sure I saw exactly what you are describing maybe 6-9 months ago on the forum….but I can’t remember where…and I didn’t bookmark it. That’s not very helpful is it? Don’t give up. Maybe it was these? See link:

Mahalo @GaryH

First time seeing those... but yes like that. I'm surprised there aren't more like these available. I'm sure they are quality built, but they seem a tad expensive.
(but I understand why design, manufacturer, marketing etc...doesn't mean I gotta like it! LOL)

not exactly my thoughts... but pretty darn close @PK 62 !!! :ROFLMAO:

The Hyundai roof rails can't be a totally unique to only Hyundai are they? I'd have thought it was an existing design that others would have aftermarket accessories already out there. but I'm on an island in the middle of the Pacific so what do I know!?!?!

Rail clamps are pretty common... Thule and a few others make them along with OEM. I suggest a google search.
Thanks for that @LittleBokey That would be my thoughts too.

But for whatever reason…I can’t find. I went straight to Thule’s site and couldn’t find anything. Searched on Amazon, with all kinds of search parameters…again everything…. but rail clamps.

I guess my “search google skills” have taken a hit. Sigh….

if, like me, your rabbit hole includes an Insta360 camera, that usually pops out the sunroof or out of the window on an upto 9' invisible selfie - for side by side drone shots, there's definitely something in that link the frees up two hands- and other goodies i can make use of.

Mahalo for the offer. But I don’t think it’s cost effective to buy your crossbars, pay the shipping to Hawaii and then throw away half of the purchase.
Now I’m not saying I’ve never thrown money away. But this offer doesn’t have me thinking about how to make it happen. “Got to have”?!?

again mahalo for the offer.

Mahalo all for the help. Looks like the crab clamps are the answer to any devices you would like to add to your rails.
