I just spoke with a friend of mine that does some freelance journalism that Santa Cruz first drives are going to be starting in early August. Which means we should get first drive articles soon afterwards.
I noticed that too..SUV's and others, Maybe that was their hit back at Ford? Coming off the line now and Ford is out to Aug. Maybe that was all they had for a come back lol.. at least put the price up, I'm starting to worry who is out front..Dumb or Dummer. One thing that I noticed from the video of the actual production line showing the end to end build of the SC: The Hyundai line accommodates simultaneous builds of different models of vehicles. To that point, HOW MANY SC's are ACTUALLY coming off the line on any given day?
I noticed that three (lol - blue Tucson in front of one Santa Cruz). Maybe those were the first few they built to show off (?).One thing that I noticed from the video of the actual production line showing the end to end build of the SC: The Hyundai line accommodates simultaneous builds of different models of vehicles. Yeah, I also can't help but wonder why the delays. They're rolling out the door, ready to go ... sure, they need time to hit dealers, but not two months. What's the story we're not being told? I also wonder how they're rolling off the production line and getting ready to ship to dealers with NO indication of pricing yet. It's weird. Just ... weird. I could see it while they were waiting for Maverick pricing, but their move was to have pricing ready to retaliate the next day and win back the buzz. Opportunity lost.
And like Mr. Claus, Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster we'll believe it when we see it.OK, folks, all together now:
Ohhh...
You better watch out, you better not cry
Better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Cruz is comin' to town!
Those lower trim level silver front end bits look good on many of the colors, especially the Hampton Gray!I just spoke with a friend of mine that does some freelance journalism that Santa Cruz first drives are going to be starting in early August. Yeah, I hated it the first time I saw it which I think was on blue stone. Works fine on the gray, and might look equally good on white or black. Have a feeling I won't care for it personally when paired with something outside the black and white spectrum. Those lower trim level silver front end bits look good on many of the colors, especially the Hampton Gray!
I think it would look very nice with sunset orange metallic. I know for fact that Hyundai already has that color in their paint robots...I fear that Hyundai has already decided on pricing, but their marketing people have told them that the public won't like it. If pricing isn't your strong suit, then the solution is to try and change the subject and not talk about it.

I would love to see some brighter colors like the Intense Blue & Calypso Red from the Tucson. Unfortunately on the Sunset Orange, it's discontinued on the Kona.I think it would look very nice with sunset orange metallic. I know for fact that Hyundai already has that color in their paint robots...
Yeah, the Kona's Sunset Orange is freakin' AWESOME! They had one at the lot last weekend when I went to see the Tucson.I would love to see some brighter colors like the Intense Blue & Calypso Red from the Tucson. Unfortunately on the Sunset Orange, it's discontinued on the Kona.
