Has anyone found out a rough estimate of how big the bed is? Length, width, and depth? I been thinking to myself if the SantaCruz can be somewhat used as a "truck".

I estimate the bed to be about 3.5 feet long retracted. Extended, maybe 5 feet. With the bed extended and the tailgate down you should get about 7 feet of surface.

It looks like it would be a great vehicle to take to the beach or camping or a tailgate party. A good amount of space back there. Not sure if the motorcycle shot above is to scale, but hopefully it will be able to handle such a use.

That's a better picture. The bed is quite small. I was thinking it could fit the bike in the bed without having to put down the tailgate. For what it is, it works though! Thanks for info ya'll

As funny as it is, it's smart, come to think about it.
While details are hard to find or not published to the web, might as well do what ever digging of your own that you can.

I just picked up this trailer last weekend for $500 new. It is 5x8, weights in under 400lbs and has a total GVW of 2000lbs which makes it perfect for towing with the SC or similar. So for the few times a year I need something bigger than the SC bed I am covered.

Most truck owners could use something like that and daily drive something much smaller.

I will keep my 2007 Nissan Frontier until something better is available, hopefully the Santa Cruz. For daily driving and fun, I have a 2008 VW Jetta 2.0T and a 2010 BMW G650GS motorcycle. I can wait.

Some Frontier guys i know have gone to the Colorado although I know it's 'more of a truck' than the Santa, but of course that depends on ones want and needs.

Agree,what I am curious about ,is whether it will hold up a couple rows of firewood ,the bed on 06 Dakota 4 dr isnt very large either .
