I am currently looking at add a sub to my system and had a question for those of you who have completed their install. I am currently between the Cerwin Vega VPAS12, Kicker Hideaway HS10 and the Rockville RG212CA. With the space limitation I'm not sure if the Rockville will fit but am looking for recommendations between the 3 (links below).

I installed the Kicker and I am very pleased with the resulting sound.
How Difficult was it to install? I know nothing about the process but am also interested in adding a subwoofer. I find the Bass to be lacking with the Night Edition Speaker System, which i believe is the same as the SE/SEL trims if i am not mistaken. Is it Plug and play? or would i have to splice some stuff? Assuming I follow your lead in choosing the Kicker

All of those subs are powered subs so they will all require a power line from the battery back to the sub/amp. Taking the battery totally out will give you room to access that grommet and get the power line through. Hiding it under the door sills is rather easy. With the Bose system, we already have a speaker wire there so connecting to that is super easy. In the non-Bose systems, folks have been recommending tapping in to the driver side rear door speaker and running a line all the way behind the rear seat. I haven’t had to do that. And I’m thankful I didn’t have to do that. The door panels do pop off easily but it’s another wire you’d have to snake through and hide under door sills.

I have the 8" Kicker. I turned it up until the rear-view mirror started to shake, backed it down a touch and it's about half way. It sounds like the groups bass player's amp is in the back seat. I likes my bass.

Added subs 2 Def Bonce 8 apocalypse and had a Sundown 1750 but now am running a Mmats 3000.5 only using 2K of that. Need to finish routering and sanding and trim some corners and carpet. You can also fit a 10 inch sub.

I have had my santa cruz SE awd about 2 months now, and took my bazooka 6" powered sub ( same one I have had in last 2 trucks) ordered a new wiring harness, I just unplugged it when I sold my other truck , I also ordered a pr of better speakers for the rear doors from Crutchfield , had it all installed, and for me its just right! I had it installed, im done trying to do that anymore, I had the sub put in the storage tray under the back seat drivers side I had to cut out a section of the plastic tray, but it fits fine, and I took out the jack and tools, wrapped Them in rags ,and put them in the bed storage area with my other tools. so I have that part of the tray for other stuff, and its full, sounds great, I had it installed for the auto on/off so sound activates it , so its not wired to the stereo unit or accessory, just to the speaker wires in back.

Speaker signal is pulled from drivers kick panel for front speakers, or in panels between front and rear seat by drivers seat belt attachments. Easy to access for either. Waiting for warm weather to install my five channel amp in each truck.
