It's 21 degrees here. I went out to pull a bag of dry dog food out of the back of the Santa Cruz. The tailgate was inoperable, wouldn't open. Anyone else find a similar issue?

It is probably frozen. I would get some dry silicone spray and spray it along the tonneau cover, if you have one where the seal meets the tailgate, as well as the latch to prevent it from sticking. You might have to hit it a few times along the edges to break the ice

This winter, I had a fun one where the tailgate would not shut after I opened it. I had to shut the tailgate and hold it shut while I locked it with the fob. Luckily one side latched and held it shut.

I'll go withHligo, Phil, and Will. It's usually water between the tonneau seal and the tailgate that won't let the tailgate descend.
And if we don't get a handle on global warming, both Mike and Maine Man may have to revise their thinking !!!

I had the same problem. Sprayed with wd40 to get it open.
