Hyundai's sister company Kia recently made a huge improvement to its logo, and they now have a classier badge on their vehicles.

The Hyundai "H" badge is a little long n the tooth IMO, and I think it's past time for them to freshen it up in keeping with the company's improving image and higher-quality products.

I don't have any suggestions, but maybe they should talk to the folks Kia used.

Am I alone in thinking the Hyundai badge is tired and needs to be retired?

No, you are not. I agree that Kia did a great job. Tired, or not, the Hyundai "H" is terribly bland and uninspiring. In that same vein, is Toyota's double circles (presumably forming a "T"?).

Odd, isn't it, how such an insignificant thing can be irritating. I have always had a visceral distaste for the Hyundai "H" because of the ambiguity; it looks more like an upside-down "N." The filleting, combined with the italic font, even makes it worse.

However, as many 'bold' change-makers have learned to their horror, even the tiniest modification to a familiar item may throw their customers' limbic systems into an uproar!

Not saying you're wrong, I agree. A quick Google search found this, which I didn't know before:

"While the “H” in Hyundai's automobile logo does stand for the company's name, it's also a stylized picture: a silhouette of two individuals shaking hands. One individual is a company representative and the other is a satisfied customer."

Kia went from literally the most embarrassing logo of all time to one of the best, talk about long overdue!

Its a bit of a non-issue on the Hyundais I'm interested in. On the Santa Cruz it doesn't have the logo on the back at all, and on the Tucson its flush behind the glass so you simply cut a piece of black gloss vinyl and put it over that and it is nice and clean. For the front, they don't really stick out and scream at you, particularly on the Tucson where its a black grill with a black logo.

Big problem Hyundai has is making sure that it doesn't look like a Honda.

Given that you found a source, any clue as to why? Odd law.
Its just a joke about how Korean adult material is censored for export, but the Hyundai logo is just two people shaking hands, albeit the other person has their hand coming out of their lower region so I censored it unnecessarily, lol!

Here's what its actually showing eheheh:

Yet another TIL; (Today I Learned for the rest of you old geezers like me)
  • Hyundai "H" is stylized people shaking hands
  • Korean porn is censored for export
  • Canadian fuel had different Ethanol content for different Octane ratings
  • Low end Maverick has no cruise control
  • And more...

I always viewed the Hyundai "H" as a play on stealing Honda customers. You get a lower priced fake Honda when you buy a Hyundai. Am I alone in this thought?

Now that they have come into their own, I agree it's time for an update!

That's the first I've heard of the handshake thing. And I'm apparently not alone ... so it doesn't work and should be changed.

Guess I'm the only one who isn't a fan of the new KN motors logo ... a backwards N, but certainly easy to not see as an IA there. Not saying the old logo was GOOD by any means, but I'm not crazy about the new look. Hyundai could find better designers.

Your not alone...I don't care for it myself...but I may be the outlier for the Hyundai logo because I do like it...at least its not like that ungodly 10" diameter logo on my last two Mercedes vehicles that I despised.

I removed my front grill badge as I felt it was too large and not in style with the vehicle. I replaced it with a custom made badge for the theme of my Cruz.

With the crazy markups some dealers are putting on their "unsold" Santa Cruz's, they should change their logo so the guy on the left has a gun pointed at the guy on the right handing him his wallet!

My brother looked at a $31K SEL AWD this weekend that was marked up to over $41K. It's been sitting on their lot for many weeks now unsold. The bed was dirty and the fake markup sticker in the window was starting to fade...
