Dude, read up on this. Don't jump in with both feet. Give it a day or 2.
Or for $3000.00 I'll drive to texas and install it all for you;.
you don't need an adapter, you need a 7 pin with a 4 pin plug in

That's crazy. There is literally no difference in what they have to do to install a 7 pin vs 4 pin. I installed my hitch and harness by myself in less than an hour. Surely you have a mechanically inclined friend who would do it for a few beers. Heck, there are several forum members in TX who might help you if you're close by.
unless they plan on installing the brake controller too...

OK, I'll bite. What do I need to order and where? Make me a list while I round up the high-school dropouts in the hood.
Several places sell the Curt 7 pin, its part #56466. You'll also need part #58520 as the bracket which holds the 7 pin to the hitch.

I called Hyundai USA and they told me there is a recall on my truck and they have to check/replace wiring and fuse and they recommended that I put off the hitch installation until then. They also don't have a time frame on the fix.
They told me they will reimburse if I have to rent another truck to do towing.
What a mess.

What is your recall for ?

The recall is for the factory 4 pin, if you don't have that then no worries.

Tons of discussion on this floating around here if you want to go down the rabbit hole. However if you have an aftermarket harness from Curt you are not part of the recall. There is no fuse or fixed wiring or any other nonsense. Just install the Curt 7 pin and get towing.

I called U-Haul and they told me that there's a wireless brake control device that you can put in the truck without drilling holes, and has an app. Do you know what she's talking about?

Dood, the brake controller has been mentioned a couple of times. You don't need it until/unless you tow a trailer/camper that has brakes and you can add it when/if you need it. Once again, get a Curt hitch and 7 pin installed and tow away. You're waaaaay overthinking this.

OK, as long there's no re-wiring involved later on. At some point, I have to trust the experts.

Even if, later on, you tow a trailer with brakes, installing a brake controller is plug-and-play under the dash. Don't sweat it...
Ok. I will hand it to U-Haul and keep my fingers crossed. Working on autos intimidates me. I just drive them.
I once had a car that I blew up just because I didn't check the oil for 4 years. Since then I am scared that automobiles don't like me.

I'm towing a 2022 GeoPro 20 FBS, length 21.6ft, UVW 3400, GVWR 4400, and Tongue weight was 420 (I made mods to decrease tongue weight) now about 370. I'm using the Hyundai OEM hitch and the KIA Telluride 7 way wire harness. Did not. use the brake controller harness, instead I'm using the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller. I'm using a 12 in Drop (10 in rise) Drop Forged Aluminum Ball mount (lightweight and rated for 12,000 lbs). I initially was using a 8.75 in rise steel ball mount, but it wasn't enough. The 10inch rise is much better. But I think I'm going to also get the Curt cushioned ball because it will add another 1.75 inch of rise. I've been limiting my speed to no more than 68 mph; Hyundai owner's manual states to limit to less than 60mph and on uphills of 6% limit to 45mph. At 68 unless the wind is blowing I've had a very smooth ride with my current weight at about 3800lbs (some gear, no water). Since then I've changed my two deep cycle 100amp AGM batteries (64lbs ea) for a single 200amp LiFePO (53 lbs). In the process of moving the battery inside the front compartment so I will have room to add a second battery and also adding a second 190watt solar panel on top. How does it pull without a sway bar? I was thinking about dropping the sway bar and going with your setup.

Got my Hitch and Brake Controller installed yesterday and just want to say thanks to all the posts that I read to help with this. Ordered the CURT 13486 hitch and it went on really smooth. Got the side bolts started and then was able to tighten the bottom bolts, then finish the side bolts. Fit was perfect. Installed the 7- pin wiring harness CURT 56466 along with mounting brackets CURT 58520 and 57204. Also, installed Brake Controller CURT 51170 and harness CURT 51529. Mounted the Brake Controller Knob on the dash left of the steering wheel by the 3 button pad. Thanks to the pictures of the harness plug-in behind the fuse panel it was easy to find. Did not remove the negative battery terminal as all connections were plug and play. No loose wires to short anything out. The plastic nuts on the back end drivers panel was fun to remove. Had to turn forever, then did the pressure down and turn and it went better. Again, Thanks for all the great posts.
can you share the link to the pictures of the harness plug-in location? thanks.
