Anyone out there changed the factory wheels for aftermarket wheels and can not get the TPMS light to go out?

Nope not any issue like that, the wheels are made to accommodate the TPMS. The TPMS sensors are good and not broke but the car is just not receiving the blue tooth signal. The question that I have is Once the light goes on solid does Hyundai need to go in to the software and unlock the system so the light will go off. It does not make any sense as to why this would kick the warranty and give Hyundai a reason to charge for this service.

The whole TPMS system is “auto learn” ready. I’ve used two different sets of aftermarket sensors on my wife’s K5 GT (same part numbers for the TPMS)

Both sets of those sensors were linked and showing pressures by the time I got to the stop sign at the top of our hill.
Your tire shop messed something up when they transferred them to the new wheels. Make them take care of it.

Don’t they have a TPMS scanner at your tire shop? Most of them have the equipment to read and scan TPMS to program a new set for certain vehicles. It is a quick process that another shop could do easily even if your tire shop can’t.

I guess the basic question needs to be asked - what is your current pressure reading - you mentioned the warning light is on, but is it reading and displaying the individual pressure of each wheel and if so, what is it? - post a photo of the individual pressure

I just had 4 new snows mounted on new steel rims at Costco. I had 4 x 52933-C1100 TPMS units thrown (I supplied) in at the time. I didn't leave the vehicle b/c, really, snows in June? (Well, now having said that...It IS Canada, eh?) Anyway I threw one tire on today as a test and drive around for a (good) while and all I got on the dash was "Drive To Display Tire Pressure". I then took it into a local shop and they said they couldn't get any read on the new TPMS and they needed to know the mfr of the unit. Was also told they would need to re-read/program the tires at the swap of each season, as well as set the corner positions. I do my own tire swaps/storage and am a tad disappointed with all this. I even have a set of brand new 52940-L1100 units here still that I had purchased originally to try. Now wondering if the coin I tossed had 2 heads... There seems to be too many trains of thought as to whether or not, the vehicle's systems are "smart" enough to pick these out on their own. Still left SMH...

Hmm...Well I've searched under the steering wheel and inside the glovebox looking for a reset and have come up empty handed. I searched through the manual and couldn't find anything either. I thought a reset would've been easy and great, but a week ago, I couldn't find it anywhere. Tires are filled with N2 and I don't want to bleed that off. If someone has a shot of where that reset is in the SC, that'd be great 'cause I couldn't find it.

It has to have one. I'll look tomorrow.

What to Do if Your Hyundai Tire Pressure Monitor System Warning Does Not Reset?
If your Hyundai tire pressure monitor system’s warning light does not reset within 10-15 miles after you have filled the tires of your vehicle, and your tires are at the proper pressure, there may be a faulty sensor in the system. If this is the case, you should schedule a service appointment with your Fort Worth Hyundai dealer as quickly as possible.

Before scheduling service, you can do a couple of things on your own first that may help reset the system.

  1. Try resetting the system by holding down the tire pressure monitor reset button. To start this process, turn off your vehicle and then set the key to on without starting the vehicle. The tire pressure monitor system reset button typically is located somewhere under the steering wheel. Hold down the reset button until the tire pressure monitor system light blinks three times. Then start the car, and the sensors should reset within 20 minutes.
  2. You can try to reset the tire pressure sensors in your tires themselves. To do this, inflate your tires to three psi above the recommended pressure, and then deflate them until they are flat. Do this on all four tires, as well as any spare tires. Reinflate the tires to the recommended tire pressure, and drive the vehicle for 10 minutes or so to see if the warning disappears.
  3. You can try to reset the system by disconnecting the car from the battery. Turn off your vehicle, and use a wrench to disconnect the positive battery cable. Turn the ignition to the on position without starting the engine, and then honk the horn for three to five seconds to remove any remaining power from the car. Reconnect the battery, and see if the tire pressure monitor system warning has now disappeared.

Well, I have 2 sets here now. Had these: TPMS 52933-C1100 units installed into the snows. Put one tire on to test, but it never connected. It just threw a TPMS system error temper-tantrum after 100Km. Sooo...it's getting the full change of tires and heading into Costco in October, where they were installed, (off the SC), and they can go in through the OBDII port and activate them (fingers crossed) Also have a set of: TPMS 52940-L1100's that I'll take along with me, just in case...Was under the understanding that either of these sets would work. Who knows? Maybe when all four are in place they MAY just light up...

K, so here's the skinny over here. The 52933-C1100 units that I had purchased and installed earlier in the year could not be read at any location I tried. I had them put in at our Costco. Fortunately, I also had a set of 52940-L1100's (notably, mfr'd in Korea) that I had purchased as well, owing to the ambiguities I had read up about. I just, this weekend past, had the Costco swap them out (at my cost). After about 10 minutes of >50Kmh, the swapped out 52940-L1100's were picked up, reading accurately, and we were away to the races.
So, mayhaps it was a mfr problem, I don't know, but these(52940-L1100 units) are what I popped into the snows:

They currently appear to be out of stock (go figger), but these are the ones that worked for me.
Cheers!
