While we'd all like to think so, if the indicators from the mobile industry are any indication, absolutely not. Phone makers have already been told to expect 20% price increases on chips through the end of next year. If it's going to affect Apple, Samsung, and Google, you can bet the car makers will be in the same or worse boat.
Honest opinion, we won't see any returns to "normal" until late 2023, probably MY2024. And right now, I think I'm being optimistic about it. If you're thinking about upgrading your phone next year, you may want to consider jumping ship early and doing it this year. The push will be on high end devices with the large profit margins, which will kill low and mid-range devices. When business has to choose, they'll always choose to keep the ones they make the most money on.
