Hello here is the explanation of why the flag is backwards. Why Is the Flag Backwards on Uniforms? The United States military is full of time-honored traditions, codes, and customs that its members uphold. The etiquette around saluting, handling the flag, wearing the uniform, and addressing the higher-ranking officers in a chain of command is detailed and specific. Every service member must know those details to the letter. But while civilians are often familiar with many of these traditions, one tends to raise many questions among the uninitiated: the reverse American flag that is sometimes worn on military uniforms. Considering the stringent rules in the military surrounding the handling of and respect for the American flag, it’s easy to find this custom confusing. Because an inverted flag signals a nation is under extreme distress, you might think the reverse-side flag implies something negative. However, that is not the case. The opposite is true. So why is the flag backwards on uniforms? Backwards Flag Meaning The reason U.S. military members wear a reverse side flag on their uniforms is symbolic. It has to do with the placement of the flag’s canton, which is the blue field that contains the 50 stars representing the 50 states. Customs dictates that the canton must be placed at the front to show respect to and honor those 50 states. There’s another aspect to the backwards flag meaning, too. When the flag is not reversed, and the canton is on the left side, a military member will appear as if they are retreating when moving forward, as an actual flag would be trailing behind them in this situation. So a flag on the right sleeve of a uniform will have the canton on the right side, facing forward — the same direction the military member is facing. If this idea is confusing, imagine carrying a flag on a pole as you move forward at a good pace. The flag will be facing the opposite direction from the one you’re moving in as the wind catches it, making it into a reverse side flag. That’s what the reversed military flag patch is intended to represent. In fact, a flag decorating any moving object is supposed to be reversed for this reason.

I previously posted this question, but it didn't seem to appear in the general discussion thread. Maybe I didn't post correctly.

I just bought my 2024 Santa Cruz SEL. Love it, but I want a hard tonneau cover. I didn't like the roll up one that comes standard in the Activity Package and upper trims.

I found discussion of the Lomax Stance, but also found this one: TonnoFlip:Hyundai Santa Cruz Tonneau Cover | TonnoFlip

The website is minimalist. Very little information as to construction and the like. They had a link to a YouTube installation video that seems quite thorough.

I like that I don't need to glue hold clips to the roof. It shows a support strut, like the BAKFlip I had on my Nissan Frontier.

Does anybody have information as the the fit, finish, and overall quality of this product?
DO NOT BUY FROM TONNOFLIP!! See my post for my experience.

I was seriously considering getting the TonnoFlip. The only thing stopping me was that it’s out of stock. You’re very thorough with your research and really made me question the legitimacy of the business. That being said, I think the TonnoFlip looks way better than the Lomax. When folded up, the Lomax panel looks huge. It looks like the TonnoFlip may actually have a smaller fourth panel that sits on the edge of the bed near the back window helping reduce the size of the other three panels. I know, you’re still unable to see out the back window, but aesthetically, a smaller panel looks better to me. So how do you like the Lomax? It sucks that it’s the only aftermarket hardcover tonneau that we have. Thanks!
Take a cue from my experience, let them remain out of stock!!!

I agree it is a very attractive offering. I like that you don't need to glue mounting points to the roof as with the Lomax Stance. Just can't bring myself to trust that they are a real company. Maybe, as I said, they are in the early launch phase, possibly moving from Puerto Rico to Florida after covid, but I can't bank on that. Their internet marketing is very well done, but that is all there is. I don't know Florida's laws, but I can't fine a business registration for them at that address or under that name. Good luck to them if they are an early startup. If they are real, they have a very attractive product. If you're willing to take the risk and use a credit card with good fraud protection, you could end up with what appears to be a great product at a great price, once it is back in stock.
I bought, got screwed, I regret buying from tonnoflip.

Aloha every one,
live in Hawaii. I should have pulled trigger for the Tonneau Flip.. Now sold out..
friend of mine has the Colorado Truck. ordered the cover. $899.00 with $75.00 discount.. Shipping to Hawaii total cost $875.00 Great looking product easy to install… Great price… when they get more I will order mine. at least 4-500 dollars less than Lomax…
Decent cover, but if it is missing vital parts for the install, as mine was/is, and tonnoflip does not answer calls, web page messages, or emails, what's the point? If I had it to do over I'd BUY AMERICAN! Lesson expensively learned! Avoid tonnoflip.

Glad to hear someone with actual experience with TonnoFlip. We'll see what happens when they restock. I pulled the trigger on the Lomax Stance because I didn't want to wait for more and better information to develop on the company, and for it to be back in stock again.

Also, you mentioned your friend and the $75 discount. I got that offer by subscribing to TonnoFlip's news letter. Page says $50 but the email I got said $75 with a code. Anyone deciding to get a TonnoFlip once they are back in stock can get a discount just for the asking
Based on my personal experience I would avoid tonnoflip at any expense if I were you.

I would not advise buying from them. Personal experience.

Some things that TonnoFlip doesn’t tell you. When open all the way it doesn’t rest against the third brake light. I probably Will take it off rather then use it open all the way. Also the installation video is edited to show the short section folding down into place. There is not room to fold it into place. It has to slid into place.

It seams to be well build and very secure. It says designed in America but doesn’t say where it was made. View attachment 24595
I have only had it for a few weeks. It is dong what I need it to so far
My experience, I advise not buying from tonnoflip. There is a lot more that they will not tell you.

Just installed the TonnoFlip… initial thoughts:

Installation is easy; HOWEVER, there’s no literature included which was a bit annoying. Instructions lead you to a YouTube video which was helpful, but having written instructions would have helped identify some of the items. For example, there are two types of belt buckles that had I known, would have saved me some time. I almost called TonnoFlip and told them I was missing parts.

It looks great Very low profile when down. You can adjust the height somewhat when completely open but not by much. Either way, you’re not seeing out the back window.

I drove it through some light rain and my bed stayed dry. Heavy rain or a car wash may be another story.

I can no longer use the auto open on my tailgate. The cover closes rather tight. It’s ok. Manual opening and closing is no problem.

The storage space within the bed is completely accessible. I think that was a problem with another hardcover.

I love it! Price was reasonable. Shipping was fast. Ordered on a Friday and got it on Thursday.
If you aren't missing parts, be grateful. Tonnoflip will not stand by their product. NO customer service or tech support.

I agree, nice cover, but I have to machine parts to install it. They sent an incomplete kit, and refuse to send the correct parts. Spend more and buy American, not this foreign import. Truly a bad low quality company. Sad

the cover is ok, but the company sent me the wrong installation kit. Not the correct parts for my SC, and extra unusable parts for some other truck. I have been trying for days, by every contact method available, and the company has made no effort to answer my calls, web page contacts, or emails. Lifetime guarantee ? Not a chance in ****. Just look at their policies and you will see that they have no intention of supporting you. They don't send what you ordered, it's your tough luck. The cover is ok but their QC, and customer support is non existent. These things are made in another country, they are NOT American. Learn from my first hand experience, buy somewhere else.

I decided to go with the Lomax Stance. While I like what I saw for the TonnoFlip, I just don't trust Tonnoflip to be legit. I found too many problems checking them out, like the USPTO trademark was just filed last year (Trademark Status & Document Retrieval).

I can't find a business registration in Florida, and earlier traces of "TonnoFlip" track back to Puerto Rico. I can't verify their claim with the SBA of being veteran owned. Veteran Small Business Certification

All of their instillation videos seem to be done by the same people in the same garage around the same time. If really were thousands of satisfied customers, I would expect to real comments somewhere. All I found was a couple posts on the Toyota Tacoma forum which relates to purchases in Puerto Rico. Nothing on Ford Maverick or F150 forums, which are some of the most popular trucks. Any comments I found on other forums were answered by new members whose existence seems to be only to answer the comments about TonnoFlip. This makes me think the answers, and the very few testimonials, may be from TonnoFlip employees or owners. They have lots of presence on Facebook, Twitter (X), Pinterest, and YouTube, but all date back about a year or less. There is a Facebook Admin post on TonnoFlip's facebook account saying they are reviewing the account and may block it or cancel it altogether. We know Facebook will cancel someone for being politically incorrect, so I don't know if this means anything. There is a YouTube video answering the question , why was my TonnoFlip box opened, claiming it was a quality control inspection. Maybe, or maybe they they installed that unit to make the video, then reboxed.

Yelp gives their address as 902 Cross Prairie Pkwy Kissimmee, FL 34744 (https://www.yelp.com/biz/tonnoflip-kissimmee-2) . The listed phone number and website match the Tonnoflip website, which itself is lacking a physical address listing. Google street view shows a small commercial building housing a surveyor and lawnmower repair.

In short, it just doesn't smell right. Maybe they are real and just launching. If so, good luck to them.

Like I previously said, it looks like a very nice product, but I would advise you that if you purchase one of their tonneau covers, use a credit card with good fraud protection.
Good call, they are a very low quality business, in my first hand experience.
