They have the Build live now on Hyundai's site. Not much for extras to add to a Limited. Mostly the accessory list with no pictures.

The Ford Maverick build page displays most of the accessories in picture form (an actual image of the product).

Hyundai is asking me to BLINDLY spend $215, $395, $615, $695 on item (no clue what they look like). Ohhh Kay! 🥺

Hyundai Fail #... #.. I've lost track what number we are at.
Yes, a major fail for Hyundai on that in comparison - Ford actually had that up with the pics the day they introduced the Maverick.

Weird, you have to use: Build Your Own Hyundai | Hyundai USA

No matter what model you click, SE, SEL, etc it will only display a Limited model, because apparently finding a stock photo of each trim was too hard.

I need to apply at Hyundai marketing, I don't have any experience but I'm pretty sure I could still do a better job, lol!

If you go the other way to the Santa Cruz directly, it just tells you FWD models are coming soon: 2022 Santa Cruz Debut | Sport Adventure Vehicle | Hyundai USA

Oh, you're interested in the fender flares or bed divider kit or bed rails look like? No problem, got ya covered with a vague description and pic of a blue background Hyundai logo, lol!

Even changing the interior color does nothing, it just shows the black one either way.

I've posted this before, but it doesn't have to be like this, here's a good website build tool: Build Your Own 2021 GLB 250 SUV

MB does have the money to spend on media hype, but I will never be able to erase that picture of the Rose Gold MB from of my mind. My neighbor loves his MB, but he does trade it in the day before the warranty expires. He just paid around $70K for the one he has now. Tells me he buys them for the safety, which may be true, but I think there are other reasons also as he works as a program director for a local TV channel.

While I understand that building a good website UX isn't as easy as it seems like it should be (from decades of building websites) ... and coding can be "technically" complicated ... it's really not THAT complicated. Especially when you're working with the marketing budgets of a mega-corporation vs. local volunteer-run unfunded non-profit groups. A competent teenager can figure it out if their agency can't. Yes, javascript sucks, but there are finite options in these build sites. Not THAT crazy complicated! Especially when you literally already have the templates built for the entire rest of your product lineup!! It's a frickin' copy and paste job for the most part!

That's what makes me a bit batty about the horrid websites in both countries for the Cruz. There is literally no excuse for them to not be at least on par with the build sites for the entire rest of their product line. It's just database entries and linked images!

I totally agree with your assessment. Hyundai should have had the website ready to go active before the cars were even being built. Then when they were hitting the lots, it would have been simple.

Reminds me of one of those expectation vs reality memes.

This is what Hyundai says a SEL in Mojave Sand looks like per the build site:
1814

What an SEL Sand color actually looks like from a dealership photo:
1815

I happen to have this bookmarked since i was also considering a GLB (get a discount) and this is the Mercedes build website:
1820

Versus a dealership photo of one in their studio:
1819

The hope is that if enough people whine loudly online, maybe it can catch the attention of some autojournalists that browse these sites for news or maybe even someone at Hyundai.

Unfortunately Hyundai has never mastered a launch. I don't think I would consider any of their new product roll-outs an actual launch - say nothing about a good one.

With other manufacturers, they have a set on sale date - where usually all dealers will have the vehicle in stock. I remember shopping for a Ford Zx2 back just before it's launch and the dealers had them, just most were tucked away in the back and had window stickers that said this vehicle not for sale and no price info.

I know with the inventory shortage Hyundai is trying to push vehicles to dealers as fast as possible, so shipping times, particularly with rail can be part of the issue THIS TIME, but it's been as bad in the past or worse. The Genesis GV80 last year - there were dealers in the same market that received multiple units weeks before some dealers had their first one.

And for advertising, they haven't been as bad as Acura was with the NSX superbowl commercial (what was it 2 years in advance?), but back to the original Hyundai Genesis they advertised at the Superbowl - well ahead of it's arrival, then will advertise some a month or so after the vehicle arrives and then go back to advertising the core vehicles (Sonata, Elantra, Santa Fe & Tucson) and forget about the rest. When was the last time you saw a manufacturer ad for the Kona, Veloster N, Ioniq or even the Accent?? The last 2 years the Azera was available, I knew of salespeople that didn't know the car still existed even with them sitting on their lots. Even Google forgets about these cars - the Accent is their longest available model in the US, when I started to Google to see when it was released (1994), I typed in "when was the Hyundai Accent" and it's suggestion was DISCONTINUED... sorry Google, it's still here for 2022.

Google's servers must have been infiltrated by filthy Canadian hackers ... the good ol' Accent is absolutely gone from Canada. Not even on Hyundai's website anymore. And that's a site that still says the Santa Cruz pricing is "coming soon" - so you KNOW they're not quick to update it! LOL

I have ordered Hyundai's for two decades. I always try to order the "new" colors first, to see what they actually look like. As said above, they usually only get White and Black correct-even the Silver has been off on certain cars. I try to see them all in the "wild" to see if I want to order more, but Hyundai usually limits the availability on the new "test" colors. I was surprised, and really liked the Golden Yellow on the Sonata when it came out, but hated the Hampton Gray on the Sonata. When they released the Hampton on the Santa Fe, it was (and still is) gorgeous. Looks just as nice on my Santa Cruz. I keep an open mind, and repeatedly tell customers to not get their hopes up while looking at brochures.

Wish I had taken a picture, but a Blue Stone was on the lot of a local dealer here in Virginia, and the rear driver's side quarter panel color was way off. It was closer to a hampton gray than Blue Stone. Really stood out like a sore thumb. Upon further inspection, the right front passenger quarter panel was also a different shade. So not only can they not get their brochure colors consistent, they can't even get the color on the entire actual car the same shade!!
